Our Stand in Christ
The OIKEOS Christian Network supports and encourages a daily walk in newness of life that can only be found through belief in the accomplished work of Jesus Christ. Our Stand in Christ is a four-day Biblical education course dealing with the spiritual competition. The emphasis of this course is a deeper look at good versus evil by unveiling and exposing our spiritual adversary in the light of our heavenly position in Christ. It currently is offered regionally in the United States and runs in a 4-day weekend format. A registration fee covers the particular meal package offered at each event. Overnight accommodations at the venue are the responsibility of participants.
We stand against God’s enemy and his methods and schemes to steal, kill, and destroy and do not retreat or yield ground but stay put on the spiritual “real estate” of our collective position seated in the heavenlies with Christ. Our Stand in Christ completes the “In Christ” series inaugurated by Our Identity in Christ and Our Maturity in Christ. The series is designed to aid Christian believers who desire to walk in newness of life in Christ. The three “In Christ” courses progressively build the learning and living of who we are in Christ, ultimately demonstrating to the student what it means to sit, walk, and stand in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:6: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Sit - Walk - Stand
First, we sit. The accomplished work of Christ is ours to claim. The foundation of this work is the individual’s justification through the faith of Jesus Christ. As a result, we were all collectively elevated to our heavenly position. We sit at the right hand of God with Christ where we spiritually rest from our own works. This is truth which cannot be altered, diminished, or tarnished from God’s point of view because He called us to this position. This is our identity in Christ.
Ephesians 4:1: I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.
Then, we walk. From this heavenly superior and spiritually victorious position we walk or conduct our lives on earth. We reflect all the brilliance Christ embodied when he walked or conducted his life in love, light, and spiritual wisdom. This is our maturity in Christ.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Finally, we stand. We stand against God’s enemy and his methods and schemes to steal, kill, and destroy. To stand means when we are attacked spiritually by Satan we do not retreat or yield ground but remain unmovable on the spiritual “real estate” of our collective position seated in the heavenlies with Christ. This is our stand in Christ.
