As the most revered individual in all history, Jesus Christ is perhaps also the most misunderstood. Who is he, in truth?
Even at the very time of his presence on earth, speculation and opinion about his identity swirled around him from all directions. Yet, a simple fisherman from Galilee named Peter knew the answer and declared him to be “the Christ, the Son of the living God”.
Jesus Christ himself confirms Peter’s statement of truth as an unveiling from heaven.
Matthew 16:15-17:
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
